Yey! i wish the last show was up for me to listen to! The site is great! I can't wait until next saturday!

Hi My name is Karron Farias - Sunday, January 13th, 2008 8:57 PM EST
I love native voices and I am the mother of Sarah Berry who was interviewed in 2004 for the problem at her high school. She has since graduated and married and they now have a beautiful baby girl. Although she no longer feels the brunt of the harassment, her dad has and in his work place it was BAD! They called him "Tonto" over the work radio when calling for him. If you know anyone who would be willing to help in this problem we would be so greatful! Again I thank Native Voices for your support of Native issues! God Bless

Alice Huffman (former producer, current website manager) - Friday, November 30th, 2007 2:43 AM EST
Joseph and all Native Voices listeners,
Thanks for asking about where the shows are. As you know, Randy and I moved away from Cincinnati and left the show in the very capable hands of John Jackson and his son. We now live in Tucson, Arizona. I still manage the website and upload the shows, but this has become more complicated by a number of factors. We are recording the shows from the station's web stream, which at times does not work and is why some of the shows are not available. I used to be able to schedule automatic recording of the shows with my computer, but I currently have to do it manually. The delay from the airing of the show to its availability for online listening is caused in large part by my schedule and commitments--I'm currently involved in four part-time jobs (ah, the joys of moving and starting all over!).
Regardless, I do apologize for the unavailability of some shows and the delay in making them available. We will try to do better!
Having said that, I just uploaded the November 3, 17, and 24 shows. I hope you will enjoy listening to them!
Thanks so much for all your patience. We hope you'll remain a loyal and supportive listener of the Native Voices Radio Program!
Always,
Alice Huffman

Jacque Gencarelle - Thursday, June 7th, 2007 1:15 PM EDT
I found this site through google. I work for a government agency that recently started affinity groups. I am researching Native Issues and am completely surprised by the amount of ignorance but more so by the masses. I read about the talk show host, working for Clear Channel, "dishing out "her native knowledge" and just shook my head. We have a long way to go and lots to do in way of cultural education. Not only for ourselves but for others too! As my parents used to say, "Don't speak wrongly of anyone until you can say you have no wrong to speak of". Thanks!

SUSAN - Thursday, May 31st, 2007 10:09 PM EDT
WHEN I WORK ON MY COMPUTE, I NEED TO GO TO YOUR WEBSITE AND LISTEN TO A SONG FROM THE LAST TO THE BEGIN, WHEN YOU TOLD ME ABOUT THE WEBSITE.

Teresa Whitewolfwoman - Sunday, April 22nd, 2007 12:00 AM EDT
Before I joined Native groups recently, I had no way of knowing what was going on out here. I am amazed, at the injustice and prejudice that still exists against Natives. Even more surprising to me, is to discover some of our own have betrayed themselves (their Native convictions), for the sake of money. The influence on these brothers and sisters is not Indian. I do not know what solutions might be ahead, but I am going to do whatever I can do, to be a part of the solution. I have so much to learn and am ignorant, at this time. But as I learn, I will make myself available, as one of those who is seeking answers to these troubled times.

Estela - Saturday, April 14th, 2007 11:48 AM EDT
I certainly recognize the pervasive injustices and ignorance of the society at large. The things people say to me!! However, ignorance is lack of information and certainly (potentially) curable. Your program is great, not only for the music, but also for providing an invaluable contribution to education and enlightenment. It's my own opinion, but I feel that the impact of the initial European invasion caused great psychological damage to indigenous people from which recovery is a long and difficult road. Your program also contributes toward a necessary healing. Thanks so much! Peace and Blessings.

Hi, Joseph. Thanks for signing the guestbook--and for listening!

We have been playing at least one Christmas song per show this month. For
today's show, we are planning on playing three. Next week, however, the
23rd, we are planning on doing all holiday music. Also, we might have a
special show on Tuesday the 26th, but we haven't heard from the station
about this yet.

All, of course, are from Native musicians. :-)

Thanks again for listening to the Native Voices radio program. Please let
us know if you have any other questions or suggestions.

Best regards,

You and all of you involved with the voices radio is on a journey. You speak in the human voice but the creator speaks thru you. This is a very heavy resonsibility. You need to remember the Joy that the creator feels for each new person you reach. By reaching people you allow the spirit to stir and move within.

I shall pray for your efforts.

Keep it going. We are doing whatever we can to gain a larger awareness of Native culture here in eastern PA. In addition to native sulpture and jewelry we also carry music and magazines. What we need now are more Native artists, native musicians who can play in this area, drums, dancers, etc.

Thanks for being there.

Randy,
Great to hear you on the air brother! I'm honored that you played Flight of the Hawkman on the 2-4-06 show. Especially following Quiltman and just before Barry. whew.
I'm in the process of recording a new CD and "Flight" will be redone and offered as a bonus track on the new album. One of the things we're going to do is to bring the drums down toward the end of the song, only to mix them into the Peltier Honor Song. I've been looking for a copy of The Peltier song so that my other singers could hear it, and low and behold there's Quiltman doing it on your show.
I'll be spending a lot of time listening to back dated shows and will catch your show live whenever I can. Thanks for all you do brother!

Much love,
J.D.

Having made headlines by stepping into the fray on behalf of a dead NASCAR driver´s wife and having recently lost his attempt at keeping Terry Schiavo alive by machine – Jeb (John Ellis Bush) Bush has decided to interfere with a decision by the NCAA.
The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is a voluntary organization through which the nation's colleges and universities govern their athletics programs.
It is made up of more than 1,250 institutions, conferences, organizations and individuals committed to the best interests, education and athletics participation of student-athletes.
The NCAA has decided to ban Native American mascots and team names from use by colleges within the NCAA.
Bush doesn´t like that.
He had this to say about the decision, which goes into effect on Feburary 1, 2006 :
"I think it's offensive to native Americans ... the Seminole Indian tribe who support the traditions of FSU. I think they insult those people by telling them, 'No, no, you're not smart enough to understand this. You should be feeling really horrible about this.' It's ridiculous."
He continued with this tirade, "You know what they ought to be worried about? The graduation rates of most college athletes. Maybe if they had some suggestions on that, that universities could apply and could implement, they could be doing a service to all of us."
Bob Williams, spokesman for the NCAA has stated that student-athletes, on the average, graduate at a higher rate than the average student.

Will place you guy's on my listen to list. Great to see native media expansion continuing. The internet is making a positive and much needed means of access to what's happening in Indian country.
I do a one hour show on a public service station here in Maryland; wryr.org that is owned by an environmental group. My show is Native Echoes and features music by native artist from the western hemisphere and information on becoming earth friendly. Keep up the work and much success to you all. Rico

Cindy - Thursday, May 12th, 2005 12:35 PM EDT
Dear Randy & Alice, and all of you that make this station "worth it",

I just want to let you guys know that I received my CD on Monday and I've been listening to it since then... what a wonderful gift to give, the gift of music.

I also wanted to say that you can't buy a CD for 15.00, not CD's like this. you'll pay 18-20 dollars if not more.
so not only do you give us music, but you give us news, facts, laughter and the truth, some things money can't buy!

you guys are awesome! I've told just about every one I know about this station.

... Sometimes we don't know our path and the direction we need to go in and we want to help or "be involved" in the issues that the Native people have been dealing with ever since the European set foot on this land. they're not sure where to start or where to go... I've always told them that are two sides to every story. Read, read and read. now I tell them, read and listen to Native Voices, you guys are on the right path and with God's help you will reach many people of many colors and backgrounds and we will stand side by side in love and not face to face in hate, and that is the only way to overcome.

God Bless, Cindy

Hello!
I`am from Finland.
I like listening Native Voices.

Cindy - Friday, April 29th, 2005 10:41 PM EDT
To Native Voices...

Just wanted to let you guys know that I was glad and honored to become a member of quality radio such as this. (you should be receiving my check within this week)

I always look forward to coming into work on Monday, just to listen to a new installment of Native Voices.

I have always enjoyed reading the old Native stories, but I have to tell you, listening to them gives it a new dimension of understanding to me. The No Moccasins story was just another example of honor and compassion among people.

Anyway, you guys are doing such an awesome and important job, and I wanted to let you know that you have touch me, and I pass on what I learn from you. Stay strong and in the Spirit. Much Peace & Love, Cindy
